Speech by the Creative Director and Founder of MAISON D’IDÉE Prague to the new Account Managers

Every day, the strongest brands on the market entrust us with their products. Brands that are part of the lives of millions of people, brands that are on shelves, in refrigerators, bathrooms, bags, and on screens.
In meeting rooms from Paris to Prague, Sofia, Bratislava, and Dubai, there are entire teams of people who approve our designs. And you, as an account manager, will be the one who holds everything together. The one who stands between the idea and reality.
And all these people, all these teams and brands, will see the results of your work. The question is: are you ready for it?

Let’s not kid ourselves. This is hard work.

Here, we don’t just “go to work.” At MAISON D’IDÉE, we create, discuss, invent, test, repair, fine-tune, and fight. Not because we want to complicate our lives, but because we love it.
And if you don’t feel this passion, if marketing and design mean nothing to you, if your heart doesn’t race when we talk about branding, packaging, and strategies, then you won’t be happy here.
I’ve seen it many times over the years. In 2025, I reviewed more than a hundred resumes and conducted dozens of interviews. Most people say they are interested in marketing. But only a small fraction of them have that sparkle in their eyes. And that sparkle is what decides everything.
Without passion, it doesn’t work. Because when you put your energy into your work, when you care about what you do, it pushes you forward. But if you come here “just to get a job,” you’ll quickly find that it wears you out. This world is fast-paced, demanding, full of challenges, new technologies, and constant change. But for those who love it, it’s also incredibly addictive.

You can’t learn passion. Either you have it or you don’t.

MAISON D’IDÉE is not about sitting at a desk for eight hours a day. We are not a corporation.
We are an agency that lives and breathes what it does. Our designers, copywriters, and strategists have spent years perfecting their craft. Some of us have been doing this work for 15–20 years,
and we still enjoy coming up with new ideas, new packaging, and new projects. (I personally have been doing this since 2003.)

The fact that you, as a new account manager, will have the opportunity to work with major brands right after joining us is not a matter of course.
It is the result of ten years of work by many amazing people, long weekends, sleepless nights, and constantly pushing boundaries. Today, we are placing in your hands the trust that we have worked hard to earn.
And we expect you to handle it responsibly.

Only excellent work is accepted here. Not “almost good,” not “it’ll do.” If you forget something, don’t finish it, leave it as it is—that’s not okay. And yes, sometimes it will be stressful.
But that’s the price you pay for doing things that matter.

You will be at the birth of something that millions of people will see.

Not many people can say that hundreds of thousands of people hold the results of their work in their hands every day. That their idea is on the shelf in the supermarket, that you see it in commercials, that it becomes part of everyday life. We have that opportunity. And you can have it too.

Take a stroll through Kaufland in Bratislava, Tesco in Prague, shop online in Brno, or order products from a local farm in Liptov – you will see our work everywhere.
Every package, every label, every design bears our signature.
And each one has passed through the hands of someone who does it with passion.

So when you rush home, remember that maybe your project is the one that will make someone’s day brighter, that someone will give as a gift, that someone will praise, that will find its way into homes across the country. And you will be part of it. That’s something you can’t buy—you can only experience it.

It’s not for everyone. But if you love it, it will change your life.

I won’t lie to you.
You’ll have a lot of work to do.
Sometimes your phone will ring on Saturdays.
Sometimes you’ll be dealing with things that seem insignificant to you—but that will determine the success of the entire campaign.
But if you see it as part of the game, as something you enjoy,
then work will become your life.
And that’s okay.

Because this job isn’t about “when do I get off work.”
It’s about enjoying seeing the results, about finding fulfillment in doing things that have an impact.
It’s about feeling proud when you hold the finished product in your hands and know that you were there from the first brief to the final launch.

So get ready for it.

MAISON D’IDÉE is a place where people work hard.
But it is also a place where you grow, where you learn from the best, where brands that change the market are created.
We are not satisfied with mediocrity.
And that is why there is no room for indifference here.

If you enjoy it, if you feel like working hard, if you find fulfillment in finding solutions and communicating with people,
if the pace doesn’t bother you but rather motivates you—
then join us.
Because you will enjoy this place.
And we will give you trust, space, and brands that others can only dream of.

But if you’re looking for a quiet job where the days drag on and challenges are few and far between,
then MAISON D’IDÉE is not for you.
And that’s perfectly fine.

The conclusion? Simple.

This isn’t for everyone.
But for those who have passion, curiosity, energy, and a desire to push boundaries,
this is a place where they can change their lives.
Where their work will be seen by thousands of people.
Where dreams of marketing become reality.

So I ask again:
Are you ready?
