Some agencies grow quickly. We grew slowly — but together with our clients. No shortcuts, no “one-shot” projects. Twelve years in Prague have taught us one thing: the greatest value in packaging is not created in months, but over years.

It has been more than twelve, perhaps even thirteen years since we decided to build a packaging-focused advertising agency in Prague. Looking back, there was no grand plan to “conquer the market.” It was simply an ambition to do things well and to do them for the long term.
Our very first client is still with us today. A company from our hometown of Zvolen that processes spices. We started modestly — with two, maybe three products. Paprika. Nothing that would suggest we would one day be managing hundreds of SKUs.
Today, we take care of more than 300 SKUs that are a regular part of supermarket shelves across Slovakia and increasingly across the Czech Republic as well. And for me, the most interesting part is not the number itself, but the time behind it. More than a decade of cooperation. And I sincerely believe we have another decade ahead of us.
That is how we think.

When new people join us, one of the first things I try to explain is that nothing here is short-term.
And I can see that they do not fully understand it.
Which is perfectly natural. Try explaining to a 23-year-old that a decision they make today may influence a client relationship five or ten years from now. It sounds abstract. Perhaps even a little bizarre.
But that is exactly how we operate.

Every email. Every proposal. Every meeting. It is not an isolated moment. It is a brick in something that is being built over years.

And that is why we place enormous emphasis on how we communicate, how we think, and what services we provide. Not with a horizon of weeks, but of years.

At MAISON D’IDÉE, we have built something over the years that we are genuinely proud of.
It is not only about results. It is also about people.
People come and go. That is natural. But one thing remains unchanged for me — we must never tarnish what has been built here.
Even if someone was with the agency only for a short time, their work remains. And we carry responsibility for it.
And honestly, one of the best things about this job is the moment when a former colleague walks through a hypermarket, stops in front of a shelf, and says:
“I worked on this.”
Maybe they have said it a hundred times before. Maybe the people around them no longer pay attention to it. But for us, it is proof that what we do has a real impact.

If I were to count all the clients we have been working with since before MAISON D’IDÉE was founded — back when we operated under a different brand — last year we reached a remarkable milestone.
20 years.
Twenty years of taking care of a single client. A hotel from my hometown.
And even though Prague is now more than 500 kilometres away from Zvolen, neither the quality nor the intensity of our collaboration has changed.
If anything, quite the opposite.

That is why, when we take on a new client today, we do not approach it as “let’s try a project.”
We approach it as if we may be starting a ten-year relationship.

And every decision we make today is projected into the future. We try to imagine how it will work in 5, 7, or 10 years’ time. It is a slightly different way of thinking. Less sexy. Less “pitch-driven.” But all the more stable because of it.

Of course, the world around us is changing faster than ever before.
Technology, tools, ways of working.
Just a few years ago, I would never have imagined that we would be using AI as intensively as we do today. And honestly, it is very difficult for me to imagine what the work of a packaging agency will look like in 2036.
But one thing will probably remain unchanged.
Relationships.
Because at the end of the day, it is not the tool you use that matters. What matters is who you trust and for how long.
And that is exactly what this agency was built on.
